South Coast Town Planning is the NSW arm of Canberra Town Planning, we are based in the Australian Capital Territory and Sanctuary Point. We provide the following planning services to regional NSW.

With our vision to be the most innovative and trusted town planners operating on the NSW South Coast, our NSW team is dynamic, experienced and focused on providing a ‘value added’ service to our clients.

Our team understands the intricacies of both government and the development sector, the multiple stakeholders and their often-conflicting views. This gives us deep insight into project pinch points and opportunities, knowledge to deliver quality planning advice and the confidence to develop innovative and achievable planning outcomes.

Pieter van der Walt

Director, Senior Town Planner RPIA

A native of South Africa, Pieter is a qualified town and regional planner with more than 20 years’ experience in urban and regional planning, CAD design and geographic information systems, and has worked in a wide variety of arenas internationally and in Australia. Pieter has worked across a wide range of commercial, industrial, mixed use, aged care, and residential developments as well as on major transport and water infrastructure projects. Pieter’s experience includes strategic planning assessments, statutory planning and development approvals, community consultation, crown lease consideration and land demand analysis, development potential appraisal, and transportation and strategic urban planning.
